On Monday, October 9th, the quiet rhythms of Fox Point were transformed into a wild, raucous outpouring of marching band activism as twenty brass and marching bands flooded the area for the Providence Honk Festival – or Pronk, as it’s commonly known.

OSMM was there in the evening showcasing our latest project, seven foot high programmable letters spelling out P R O N K in synchronized colors and pattern controlled by crowd tweets and a vibe of shared community and music.

Built over a single weekend of non-stop making, the construction of each of the five letters brought together all the skills that OSMM is known for – CNC, carpentry, electronics, programing – in a synergy of making and camaraderie that’s impossible to describe and can only be experienced.
